About Our School

At Blooming Garden Preschool:
Our experienced and loving teachers create a welcoming environment filled with enriching activities to engage a child's curiosities. With low student-to-teacher ratios, we provide a close-knit atmosphere, encouraging friendships and growth.

Our classes follow the Portland Public School calendar, beginning in September and ending in June. Our daily routine includes structured activities and open-ended opportunities for creative play. We also offer a fun variety of summer camps available to our registered students.

Our school day includes:

  • Morning Meeting: Thematic lessons, songs & stories

  • Free Play & Projects: Cooperative play and teacher-led art & science projects

  • Snack Time: Parent-provided snacks in a social setting

  • Trike Time: Outdoors on our playground or inside our gym

  • Show & Tell: Children love bringing in something special to share!

  • Lunch & Learn: Parent-provided lunch and pre-kindergarten learning activities.

Visiting instructors:

We often welcome special guests to the school (previous guests have been firemen, arborists, teachers, and other Community Heroes).

Field trips:

We plan several field trips throughout the year, including a visit to a pumpkin patch in the fall, a family nature walk in the spring, and a trip to a nearby park for a Friend Fun Day.
